Bridal Party Numbers..
When you first get engaged, the first thing you are probably thinking about is your dress, your flowers and your relaxing and romantic honeymoon. However, as soon as you pluck your head from the clouds and get down to the serious planning of your wedding day, you realise it is actually a lot more complicated than that.
For example, one of the first things you should organise is your wedding party, for several reasons; one so that no one is left wondering if the party has been announced and whether they are in it, two so you can start organising the dresses and suits to match your gown, and three so you know how many people you can seat in the rest of your reception venue, having taken care of the number at the bridal party.
The numbers you choose for your bridal party will depend largely on your budget and even if you have six close friends, two sisters and a sister-in-law, your budget may not stretch to nine bridesmaids. So at some point you will have to make a cut.
Remember that the size of your wedding can help you decide on the number of bridesmaids and groomsmen you choose. A smaller wedding, under 200 people will look balanced with anywhere from one to six bridesmaids, while a larger wedding lends itself to a larger bridal party.
You may also like to have ushers to show your guests to their seats and a good rule of thumb is to have one usher per 50 guests to ensure everyone is looked after. Or if you want to keep the bridal party smaller still, you can follow the tradition of using your groomsmen as ushers.
